I think the most interesting thing in the book is Big Foot and how he his Dot's stepbrother. I found that very interesting. I also love the friendship that developes in the book.
I thought that the part where doc haley and big foot got in two fights. The second fight was cool because it told you what was going on and how bad it was. It told you how big foot was acting very mean and how he died.
I thought this book was very interesting. The best part about it to me was when Dit and Emma helped Doc fake the death and escape. The most surprising part about this story was when i found out that Bigfoot and Doc were step brothers.
what i thought was interesting about the book was that big foot was actually doc haileys brother and he always stole from him and didn't treat him well because he was a different color.Also how emma and dit became friends even thought emma was black and dit was white.
What I liked about the book is the friendship because back then black and whites were not aloud to be friends. They put up with everyone taunting them but they want to be friends.
I think this book was shocking,and good. The shocking part was that bigfoot was doc's step-brother.If I were doc I wish bigfoot wasn't my step-brother.I glad I read that book.
